Packaging giant Smurfit Kappa’s operations in Norway and Denmark have won a Scanstar 2016 Packaging Award, presented by the Scandinavian Packaging Association (SPA), a body incorporating the national packaging organisations of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
Smurfit Kappa Denmark took the award for its improved transport packaging for sheets of bended aluminium, on behalf of waterproofing company Icopal.
Smurfit Kappa Norway won the award for working with Scandinavian Business Systems on the design of a corrugated inlay which forms part of a transport pack for chairs and replaces polystyrene.
“We are delighted to have received Scanstar awards in two of our key markets, furthered by the knowledge that we are the only manufacturing company to do so,” said Pim Wareman, Smurfit Kappa CEO, Corrugated North East Europe.
