Packaging giant Tetra Pak has announced its plans to build a new closure plant for carton packaging at its Rayong site, in Thailand.
The company will sink €24 million into its construction, creating approximately 60 jobs. It will be able to produce more than three billion closures annually.
The finished facility, located within the company's Straws and Strips plant, will open in early 2018.
Tetra Pak said that the new facility will ensure a local production capability and offer extra capacity.
Michael Zacka, cluster VP of Tetra Pak in South Asia, East Asia and Oceania, said, “The new production facility will ensure faster delivery for customers across the region, offering a broad range of exciting closures that meet consumer demand for functionality and convenience.”
“Together with the packaging-material factory that we will open in Vietnam in 2019 – our fourth in Southern Asia alone – our ability to serve customers in this exciting part of the world is growing stronger all the time.”
