Packaging giant Ardagh Group has announced that three of its packaging manufacturing facilities in America have acquired International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 14001:2015 certification.
The three plants include beverage can manufacturing units in Fairfield in California, Fremont in Ohio, and a food can manufacturing unit in Reno in Nevada.
The certification, which focuses on environmental management systems and performance, is also the most updated version.
'Setting New Standards'
Chief executive of Ardagh Metal – North America, Claude Marbach, said, “This certification illustrates our company’s commitment to setting new standards of excellence across quality, sustainability and customer satisfaction.”
The ISO 14001:2015 certifications are supported by an already-strong quality and environmental position inherent in the products the company makes at the Fairfield, Fremont, and Reno facilities, the company said.
Metal beverage and food cans are recycled at the highest rate when compared with other packaging options.
Additionally, cans also deliver optimum filling as well as distribution and retail display economics.
The Certification Process
ISO 14001:2015 assists companies in developing a management system that aligns business strategies and environmental objectives.
It helps companies minimise their environmental impact, reduce carbon footprint, better comply with applicable laws and regulations, and stay on a course of continuous improvement.
The packaging group is also working towards making other plants in the region ISO 14001 certified.
