Finnish food company Raisio, which manufactures Benecol, has announced that Pekka Kuusniemi will begin in his new role as president and CEO on 1 November.
Kuusniemi's appointment was first announced in June. Meanwhile, Jarmo Pupputti has served as the group's interim CEO since the beginning of the year.
The incoming chief executive was previously president and CEO of Finland's Oras Group, which manufactures bathroom and kitchen faucets.
Promoting Growth
Kuusniemi says that his key tasks as Raisio boss will be to promote profitable growth in line with the group's strategy in Finland and abroad, and to increase shareholder value.
"I think the company has significant growth potential with its skilled professionals, strong balance sheet, well-known brands and ability to develop products meeting consumer trends,” he added.
Raisio reported comparable net sales totalling €196.8 million for the first six months of 2017, representing a decrease of 17.3% compared to the same period last year.
