German discounter Penny Market will this week open seven new supermarkets in Italy’s Liguria region that it acquired from grocery retailer Dico, according to La Stampa.
The new stores are located in Arcola, Casarza Liguria, Finale, Genoa Pegli, Imperia, Sanremo and Borghetto Santo Spirito.
Penny Market said that the stores, previously branded as Tuodì, will be remodelled and adapted to Penny's Ambiente 3.0 concept.
This concept offers a lot of space to fresh products, simplifies shelf reading and promotions, and enriches the service level offered to the customer.
Particular attention in this modernisation project is reserved for lighting. In addition to replacing all lamps with low-power appliances, the lighting system is tailored and adjusted for different areas of the store.
Private Label Promotion
Additionally, Penny Market has relaunched its Le Freschette line of Italian delicatessen products, by adding new products and a new packaging.
The four new products are Prosciutto di San Daniele, Prosciutto di Parma, Spek and Raw Ham. The full product line now includes raw ham, cooked ham, salami, mortadella, speck, bresaola, bacon, chicken breast and turkey and spicy steak.
