Food company Pladis Global has announced that it is appointing Luigi La Corte as its new chief financial officer, effective 1 October 2017.
The company, which produces brands such as Godiva and McVitie's, says that La Corte will be responsible for its 'ambitious finance agenda', including its capital markets strategy, investment decisions, and leading the global finance team.
“I’m looking forward to joining one of the fastest growing snacking companies," said La Corte. "Pladis is at an important stage of its global expansion."
Growth Strategy
La Corte is joining Pladis from GlaxoSmithKline, where he was senior vice president of finance and head of global business development. He started his career in the FMCG sector, working at both P&G and PepsiCo.
“Luigi is a CFO with extensive global strategic exposure and finance experience gained in major blue chip organisations," said Pladis CEO Cem Karakas.
"He has demonstrated his leadership of game changing global performance, across a wide range of areas and he will be integral to our long-term growth strategy.”
Pladis has a plan to expand beyond its two anchor markets, the UK and Turkey, investing in the US, China, the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa over the next two years.
