French food group Agromousquetaires is reportedly looking at entering the UK private-label market, as it seeks to grow its overseas sales.
Just-Food.com reports that the group is in 'advanced' talks with a number of UK retailers, with plans to offer 'high-quality French appetiser-to-dessert products' based on consumer tastes and budgets.
Tesco, The Co-operative, Marks & Spencer and Asda are believed to be in discussions with the group, according to Just-Food.com.
"We are not in the UK at present, but it is a big market for French food manufacturers, and so we are already prospecting there," commented Agromousquetaires CEO Christophe Bonno, who described the UK as a "key market" opportunity for the group, despite the recent Brexit vote.
