Among the new SKUs added to the grocer’s product range are two £1.99 Indian curry kits – one for a Goan curry, and one for a Keralan curry.

The discounter has also added pasta products in the form of Organic Buckwheat Fusilli (£1.69, 400 grams), Red Lentil Penne Pasta (£1.69, 250 grams), and Green Pea Fusilli (£1.69, 250 grams).

With regard to confectionery, Aldi is retailing its Specially Selected Gluten-Free Brownie (£1.59) and 35-gram quinoa bars, which come in five flavours and are sold in packets of four, at £1.69.

The company’s joint managing director of corporate buying, Tony Baines, commented, “Whether it’s out of choice or out of necessity, buying and eating gluten-free foods shouldn’t come at an increased cost to families.
