UK retailer Asda has introduced a colourful pizza resembling a rainbow as a mark of support for NHS and care workers amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The retailer will forward all profits from the sales of this pizza to NHS Charities Together and The Care Workers’ Charity.
'Making A Huge Difference'
CEO of NHS Charities Together, Ellie Orton, thanked Asda and added, “Initiatives from brands like Asda are making a huge difference across the country in helping us support NHS workers, volunteers and patients impacted by COVID-19. We’re extremely grateful for Asda’s donations.”
Executive director at The Care Workers’ Charity, Karolina Gerlich, said, “We are so very grateful to Asda and their customers for their support during these challenging times.
“The profits from the Rainbow Pizza will go directly to care workers who are working tirelessly on the front line.”
A Vibrant Pizza
The vegetarian pizza has five colourful toppings comprising red and orange peppers, yellow sweetcorn, green spinach and red onion.
The chilled 10-inch pizza, priced at £2.95, is available at all Asda outlets and can be easily cooked in an oven.
Georgia Gilman, Pizza Buyer at Asda, said, “We hope our new rainbow pizza will brighten up mealtimes whilst showing our gratitude towards hardworking frontline workers.
“The colourful eye-catching pizza makes for a fun family-friendly meal – from the oven to the table in a matter of minutes!”
