Spanish retail group Caprabo has increased its local product selection from the Catalonian region by 50 per cent.
At least 700 new products, sourced from 267 local suppliers and agricultural cooperatives, have been stocked on its shelves this year. The inclusion of local products has resulted in a 10-per-cent increase in sales, accounting for more than €25 million.
The local Catalonian products that have been available in Caprabo supermarkets since last year are oils, olives, water, rice, chocolate, bread, fish, eggs, milk, meat, cheese, fruits and vegetables.
The company is now focused on increasing the sale of these products by 15 per cent over the coming year.
Caprabo currently operates a network of 324 supermarkets, mainly located in Catalonia, which accounts for 90 per cent of its business.
