Carrefour is to inaugurate a 10.2-square-kilometre bottling facility, which it will use to bottle its private label wine sold under the Maison Johanes Boubée brand, mon-viti.com reports.
The drinks affiliate, also responsible for bottling Carrefour spirits and syrups, is in the midst of a large-scale logistical restructuring programme, which involves rebuilding three of its six bottling plants in France.
The new Bordeaux plant will bottle 70 million litres of wine per year.
Though 28 per cent of Maison Johanes Boubée wine comes from the Bordeaux, this will be its first bottling facility in the départment.
