C&D Foods, the pet-food division of APB, has purchased French pet-food manufacturer Continentale Nutrition for an undisclosed sum.
Continentale Nutrition filed for bankruptcy in June.
The acquisition was approved by the Commercial Court of Boulogne on July 1.
The deals brings C&D's total European manufacturing plants to nine.
Continentale Nutrition was sold to Alandia in 2014. C&D had previously attempted to purchase the pet-food business.
Founded by the late former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds in 1969, C&D Foods produced pet food from its Irish base and supplied its home country and the UK.
Investments allowed it to expand the business further and supply markets across Europe. The company has sales offices in 11 EU locations.
In 2008, the company joined the ABP Food Group.
C&D opened a €50 million pouch-manufacturing facility in Edgeworthstown, County Longford in Ireland two years ago.
It is Europe's largest private-label pet-food manufacturer.
