Italy's SUN retail consortium is introducing a new dairy-free and gluten-free ice cream range for its Consilia private label line.
The new products will be part of Consilia's 'Scelte su misura per te' range, aimed at consumers with specific diets or food intolerances.
"Our goal is to ensure that everyone can enjoy a quality ice cream," said Stefano Rango, general manager of the SUN group.
The launch of the new product comes at a time when the demand for free-from products is constantly increasing. Last week Ben & Jerry's announced that it is bringing its range of dairy-free ice cream to European stores.
SUN (Supermercati Uniti Nazionali) is a retail purchasing consortium active in North and Central Italy. Its members include Magazzini Gabrielli, Italbrix, Cadoro, Alfi and Gros.
