Spanish supermarket chain Coviran has introduced a range of lactose-free private label milk to its Portuguese stores.
The retailer offers its customers two types of Coviran private label lactose-free milk, full-fat and low-fat.
According to Coviran president, Luis Osuna, the aim of the initiative is to “enable lactose intolerant people to enjoy the taste and properties of milk, as this food contains essential nutrients such as calcium and vitamins”.
Currently one-third of Portuguese consumers are lactose intolerant to some degree.
