Leading Croatian ice cream and frozen products producer Ledo has sent its first consignment of ice cream destined for the US.
The export deal is the result of a cooperation agreement signed with Kroger, the second largest retailer in the US, and fifth largest in the world, with over 3,400 stores.
The cooperation between Ledo and Kroger began in the segment of multipack ice cream sticks, which were produced under the retailer's private label premium brand called "Private Selection".
In addition to the US market, Ledo ice creams are exported to more than 20 markets throughout Europe, Africa and Asia, including Israel, the UAE, Libya and Azerbaijan.
At its last annual conference, the International Ice Cream Consortium (IICC) awarded Ledo with two first prizes: for the world's most innovative ice cream (Ice Snack) and the best technical ice cream solution (King Prestige).
Ledo is owned by Croatian food-to-retail consortium Agrokor.
