Belgian retailer Delhaize has signed a four-year contract with private-label development company Trace One to further its private-label product innovation.
Under the new deal, Delhaize has agreed to extend the scope of its relationship with Trace One, adding the latter's Product Specification solution to the agreement, having worked with its packaging solutions since 2011.
The Product Specification solution will speed up the development process of Delhaize's private-label products, which account for 50 per cent of the retailer's total SKUs.
“Our aim for Delhaize Belgium is to drive innovation in our products, offer the best quality at the right price, and improve performance by introducing new technologies in our private-label development,” said Tim Lammens, vice-president of quality, food safety and sustainability at Delhaize Belgium.
“Trace One gives us the tools we need to do this via a seamless, end-to-end process. As well as driving increased productivity and effectiveness, it will ultimately enable us to meet our ambitious innovation, product-quality and customer-safety goals."
“By extending our relationship, Delhaize has positioned Trace One as part of their future, and we are excited to continue our excellent partnership,” said Matthieu Cévaër, vice-president of Continental Europe at Trace One.
