Despar Italia launched seven new SKUs under the Despar Free From private label brand this year, taking the total number of products available under the range to 60.
In the fresh category, new additions include microfiltered milk, spreadable cheese and sliced cheese, all of which are lactose free.
In addition, the retailer has launched a 500-gram spaghetti SKU that is free-from gluten, as well as gluten-free cookies.
The Despar Free From line has been developed to meet the needs of customers with special dietary needs due to lactose, gluten or yeast intolerance.
The private label line is the result of Despar's collaboration with the Analytical and Technological Research Laboratories on Foods at the University of Milan.
Each Despar Free From package features a symbol that indicates that a particular product contains no gluten, lactose or yeast.
