Dutch retailer Albert Heijn has launched a new private-label range of healthy snacks, made with natural ingredients such as nuts, seeds and dried fruit.
The new snacks are promoted as a more nutritious alternative to the more common salty and sugary treats. They contain more fibre and use natural flavourings, such as apple, ginger, lime and coconut.
The launch is part of the retailer's wider strategy, following on from its Sound and Sustainable 2016 initiative, to create a healthier assortment across its private label, in line with a growing demand for products associated with a healthy lifestyle.
Other retailers, such as Spar UK, have launched similar nut and dried-food offerings, as well as a newly released line of popcorn.
