German cooperative retailer Edeka is currently trialling a premium private label in the baby food category, according to Lebensmittel Zeitung. The product line, called SunSan, consists of 30 organic products priced at the level the market-leading brand.
Minden-Hannover and Südwest, two of Edeka's regional divisions, are the first to stock the new own brand products. The SunSan range is manufacturered by private label supplier Sunval and is co- branded and certified by an organisation for biodynamic agriculture, Demeter. (4 Feb)
