El Corte Inglés is set to launch a clothing line designed for the Spanish football team through its private-label fashion brand Emidio Tucci, as part of its agreement to outfit the team until 2018.
This is the second time that the chain has partnered with the national football team, having previously dressed the players for the 1982 World Cup. The latest deal comes as part of the company’s 75th anniversary.
Spanish website Expansion.com reports that Diego Copado, director of communications and external relations at El Corte Inglés, has described 2016 as a special year for the company.
"We believe that it will also be so for the team, and we wish them the biggest of successes in Europe," he added.
The three-year partnership will see the Spanish national team wear the specially designed Emidio Tucci clothes, shoes and accessories during the 2016 UEFA European Championship in France, and also at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Football fans will also be able to match the team’s style, with the line soon set to be available across El Corte Inglés's network of stores.
