Spanish retailer Eroski has announced that it has launched a new range of organic, private-label fruit and vegetables.
The new range comprises around 19 SKUs and is part of the retailer’s commitment to encourage healthy eating habits with a focus on sustainability.
The new additions include, among others, oranges, apples, bananas, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, kiwi and garlic.
In the food category, the retailer has added canned vegetables, dried legumes, pasta, juices and cookies along with several other products.
'Health And Well-Being'
Director of health and sustainability of Eroski, Alejandro Martínez Berriochoa, said, “Our commitment to health and sustainability seeks to contribute to a society with higher levels of health and well-being.
“We want to facilitate a sustainable diet, reducing the environmental impact of our processes, stores and products. Therefore, we promote organic products and those from more sustainable production processes.”
The packaging used for the range has been designed with sustainability as a central theme.
Eroski has pledged to make 100% of its packaging recyclable by 2025, and reduce its plastic use by 20%.
'Eurohoja’ Logo
The new organic range also features the 'eurohoja’ logo, which that the products are sourced from organic farms that comply with the European regulations established for the production and processing of organic food.
Presently, Eroski offers more than 1,500 own-brand organic products.
