FinnSnack is introducing a new wholegrain rye-filled snack at this year's PLMA, from 24 to 25 May.
FinnSnack Ltd is an innovative, privately owned Finnish bakery company that has long traditions in rye baking. Its bakery is located in Veteli, Finland, where it has two unique hand-built tunnel brick ovens.
The company has extensive knowledge and expertise in rye and sourdough baking, and it is at the forefront of developing innovative new snacking concepts based on 100-per-cent wholegrain rye from Finland.
All of FinnSnack's products promote health and well-being in a modern way for health-conscious consumers. It already produces FinnSnack-branded 100-per-cent-rye wholegrain snacks, as well as FinnSnack 100-per-cent-rye organic wholegrain extruded snacks, for babies and children.
FinnSnack is now introducing a new baking innovation/concept at PLMA in Amsterdam. This new product is a thaw-and-serve baked snack, which consists of a tasty wholegrain shell and a filling, which can be savoury, sweet or functional. The weight of a single product is 12g (shell 6g, filling 6g), and the product can be tailor-made to customer requirements and tastes.
The snack has a high fibre content of 10 per cent and is low in fat. It is baked with traditional sourdough, and as a thaw-and-serve product, no baking is needed. Its filling’s flavour and nutritional values remain high, as the filling is inserted after baking, before being fast-frozen in a nitrogen tunnel.
The snacks are also low in salt (less than 0.7 per cent) and baked in unique, hand-built brick ovens. They are suitable for both consumers and the HoReCa trade – simply thaw and serve.
The products are intended for every- and all-day consumption – for lunch, dinner, or snacking – or as part of a main meal or a starter, or with a possible topping.
FinnSnack is open, flexible and experienced in working closely with retailers and manufacturers, and it has an experienced R&D team that is able to jointly develop new, innovative and added-value private labels. BRC certification for the company will be ready in May 2016.
FinnSnack will be at PLMA from 24 to 25 May, at the Amstel Hall's Finnish Pavilion in the RAI Exhibition Centre, in Amsterdam.
