Germany's Netto Expands GM-Free Range

German discounter Netto Marken-Discount has announced that it is extending the range of GM-free products on sale in its stores, with the rollout of a new organic chicken range, labelled 'Gut Ponholz'.

According to Lebensmittel Zeitung, Netto intends to begin stocking GM-free turkey products by the end of the year, as well a pork products in the near future.

The new ranges are to be rolled out across Netto's 4,170 stores across Germany.

Rival discounter Norma, based in Nuremberg, also operates a GM-free poultry range, with both it and Netto's range acknowledged by the Bundesernährungsministerium (German Ministry of Food).
