Intermarché has launched a new additive and colourant-free private label product line named L'Essentiel, which is composed of yoghurts, compotes and frozen-vegetable purees, LSA.fr reported.
The 18-product-strong line was launched in Intermarché’s 1,800 retail outlets on 18 November. In-store tasting took place in nine French towns to bolster the release – Vanves, Charleville-Mézières, Morteau, Lunel, Laval, Lavaur, Bergerac, Brive la Gaillarde, and Marquise.
The development of the SKUs was kickstarted by a survey carried out by Opinionway on behalf of the supermarket chain, which found 61% of its shoppers wanted produce that is free of preservatives and additives.
