Irish Retailer SuperValu Honoured For Striploin Steak At Awards

A striploin steak product developed by Irish retailer SuperValu has gained global recognition at this year’s World Steak Challenge.

The retailer’s Hereford striploin, part of its SuperValu Signature Tastes range, secured the bronze medal in competition with steaks from 17 countries worldwide, including Brazil, New Zealand, Australia and the USA.

The SuperValu striploin is produced by Irish meat producer Kepak.

Ray Bowe, Head of Food Safety and Quality, SuperValu said, “At SuperValu, we pride ourselves on our commitment to fresh food leadership – providing customers with fresh, locally-sourced quality fresh Irish food – and we are delighted to have this commitment recognised on the global stage.

“This award reflects the continuing dedication of both SuperValu and our suppliers to the highest quality standards.”
