Dutch retailer Jumbo has launched Lekker Vrij van Gluten, a new range of gluten-free products for people with gluten intolerance.
The retailer developed the range in association with the Nederlandse Coeliakie Vereniging (NCV, Dutch Celiac Disease Association).
The Product Range
The line comprises 10 products including oatmeal, crackers, pasta, and pancake mix.
Director of buying and merchandising at Jumbo, Olaf de Boer, said, "We noticed in our stores that more and more customers were asking for gluten-free products. That is why we thought it was time to come up with our own gluten-free line to further expand our range.
"From this fall, the gluten-free range under the Jumbo private label will be further expanded with, among other things, multi-seed bread, seed crackers, filled cakes, cakes, and mini baguettes," he added.
Certified Products
The 'Lekker Vrij van Gluten' products are certified by the NCV as well as the internationally recognised Crossed Grain quality mark.
License manager of the NCV, Andrea Wesselius, said that the certification not only ensures customers that the product is gluten-free but also achieves the NCV's vision of making a gluten-free diet affordable and accessible to everyone.
