German retailer Kaufland has expanded the product diversity of its vegan offering in order to support those looking to make more conscious product choices.
"Choosing a healthy and vegan diet shouldn't be a matter of price. That is why we offer a variety of vegan and vegetarian products under our own brand 'K-take it veggie'", said Sebastian Schlag, the Head of Kaufland's own brands.

The exclusive K-take it veggie brand provides products which carry the 'V label' as well as the organic seal. New to the offering are six vegan beverage SKUs.
"With our large selection of spelt, oat and rice drinks, we offer a wide variety to those with intolerances and those who want to avoid some ingredients", Schlag continued.
Demand for vegan and vegetarian products is steadily increasing and Kaufland is seeking to meet these requirements. For example, the retailer plans to introduce a vegan ice cream in June and is also working on a vegetarian/vegan alternative to the classic bratwurst.
