Swiss supermarket group Migros has announced plans to increased the range of vegetarian and vegan-certified products it offers by 30 per cent by 2017.
The retailer currently offers a total of 104 vegetarian products and 272 vegan-certified own-brand products, which have been developed through the group’s M Industry platform.
All products meet the strict standards of the European Vegetarian Union (‘V-Label’) or the Vegan Society UK (‘Vegan Flower’) certifications.
Migros has long been a pioneer in the development of vegetarian products - in the late 90s it was the first Swiss retailer to launch vegan products, developed from tofu, while the introduction of its Alnatura brand in 2014 provided more opportunity to grow its range.
