German discounter Netto Marken Discount has commenced distribution of its private label products in Serbia, as a result of an agreement with a local retail group.
Domaći Trgovački Lanac (DTL) is an association of 13 local retailers with over 580 stores throughout Serbia. The retailers sell over 120 products from their own private label lines.
DTL members include Persu (mostly present in the northern province of Vojvodina); Senta Promet (from Senta); Medius (Nova Pazova); VUM (Šabac); Europrom (Valjevo); Tekijanka (Kladovo); Podunavlje (Bačka Palanka); Styline (Požarevac); Metalac Proleter (Gornji Milanovac); TP Morava (Kragujevac); Kastrum (Petrovac na Mlavi); VP Dima and Leon Conditors.
The distribution of private label products from foreign retailers is a new trend on the Serbian market. For example, Aroma Market sells private label products from Italy’s Conad, while Aman sells Intermarché private label products in its stores.
