Russia's Dixy Group Unveils Private-Label Products In Eco-Friendly Packaging

Russian retailer Dixy Group has unveiled a range of dairy products packaged in environmentally friendly packaging that is FSC certified.

The packaging for the Romanov Lug own-brand cream and baked-milk products is produced by Tetra Pak, using cardboard sourced from forests that are managed responsibly and renewed on an ongoing basis.

“The FSC label means that the packaging is produced from forests managed in an environmentally and socially responsible way," Ekaterina Kumanina, the corporate and external communications director of Dixy Group. "This way, we draw our customers’ attention to the issue of [the] responsible use of natural resources."

Important Issue

According to Tetra Pak's Olga Ivanonva, "[The retailer's decision to use FSC-certified packaging is a] good example of conveying the importance of this issue to consumers and generating responsible choices that every person can make in their daily life."

As well as launching the new products, Dixy is holding another event for its employees to raise awareness of the issues relating to forest protection. For two years now, the company's offices across the various regions of Russia have participated in the FSC Friday event, which is supported by the Forest Stewardship Council.
