Sainsbury's has added a series of patisserie-style dessert products to its Taste the Difference range.
The range, which was 'inspired by the growing demand for home entertaining', includes a Passion Fruit & Belgian Chocolate Torte, Mango & Coconut Panna Cotta and a Strawberry and Clotted Cream Sundae.
The dessert items range from individual pots to larger share-sizes, with two individual 'Shot Pot' items retailing at £1 each (Chocolate Shot Pot and Lemon Cheesecake Shot Pot).
Not all Sainsbury's stores will carry the full range - Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Chocolate Sundae will feature in 414 stores, for example, while the Taste the Difference Strawberry Tarts will be available in just 291 stores.
Commenting on the launch of the new range, Gemma Morgan, desserts and cream buyer at Sainsbury's said, "The new Taste the Difference desserts draw inspiration from the world of patisserie, making them ideal for dinner parties or as an indulgent treat for one. Some of the desserts have taken over six months to develop, so that every final touch and flavour is consistently perfect over time." (21 June)
