Portuguese retail group Sonae is now exporting its private label ranges to a total of 28 international markets, Planet Retail has reported.
One year ago, the group, which operates the Continente chain, was exporting its own-brand products to just ten markets.
The range of private label brands the retailer offers has been boosted by its recent acquisition of Makenotes, a Portuguese stationery manufacturer, which has led to the rollout of a new product range.
In addition, the group recently signed a franchising agreement with Fathima Group to establish Continente outlets in the United Arab Emirates by 2017.
Turnover at Sonae's food retail business stood €2.55 billion in the first nine months of the year.
