SPAR Slovenia Expands Offer With Products From Michelin Chefs

SPAR customers in Slovenia can now buy products created by three Michelin star chefs – Uroš Štefelin, Gregor Vraček and Uroš Fakuč.

The new additions are part of the SPAR Premium range and include, among others, ravioli made of rice dough with aged Tolminc and truffles, special bread with yeast, and three versions of soft homemade cottage cheese štruklji, a traditional Slovene dish.

The range comprises 16 products created in collaboration with select Slovenian suppliers and manufacturers.

All products have passed a series of intensive testing and improvement and their quality was confirmed by experts from the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana, the retailer added.

In March of this year, SPAR Slovenia marked its 30th year of operations in the country and named David Kovačič as its new general manager.

The Range

Chef Uroš Fakuč has prepared two versions of ravioli from rice dough, with aged Tolminc cheese and truffles, corn gnocchi with roasted butter, and sage and fish soup base, which is perfect for making delicious sauces, soups or brodets at home.

In addition, he has also formulated the recipe of a hazelnut and cappuccino cake, which is prepared by master confectioners at the SPAR Bakery.

Chef Gregor Vračko's  contribution includes a chicken soup base and three handmade spreads from Slovenian ingredients - pate from indigenous Krško-Polje pigs with roasted mushrooms, Laško bean spread with dried tomatoes, and pumpkin broth spread.

He has also developed a hand-made bread with yeast, which offers nutritional benefits due to its high protein and fibre content.
