El Corte Inglés has partnered up with Tesco in a deal that will see the Spanish group's products appear on the British retailer's shelves.
As reported by eleconomista.es, the move follows a test run of approximately six months in five selected Tesco Superstores located on London's metropolitan area.
A total of 48 El Corte Inglés SKUs were distributed in the Kensington, Kennington-Vauxhall, Hammersmith, Southwark y Brixton locations and following a positive response, both companies have decided to expand the agreement and distribute El Corte Inglés' products across cities in the whole UK.
Shops in Cambridge, Twickenham (London), Bristol, Brighton, Oxfordshire and Edinburgh have been earmarked for an initial rollout.
Among the products that El Corte Inglés is sending to the UK are iconic Spanish delicacies such as charcuterie, preserved fish, turrón, olive oil, fine vinegars, etc.
Last year, El Corte Inglés signed a similar agreement with Chinese busines Ou-Jue, which saw it start to distribute El Corte Inglés' products.
