UK retailer Tesco is launching a new range of fresh vegetable products, which are aimed at encouraging children to eat healthy food.
Tesco is starting the range with star-shaped butternut-squash bites, and will later roll out other products, including smiley sweet-potato faces.
Novelty Nutrition
“We want to give parents a helping hand with encouraging their kids to eat more vegetables," said Elizabeth Hall, Tesco's vegetable buyer.
“We’ve taken a lot of the hassle out of preparing vegetables like butternut squash, which might deter busy cooks at home, whilst also making them more appealing for children."
“We hope, by adding a touch of novelty, we can make vegetables the deliciously nutritious and fun part of every meal,” Hall concluded.
Tesco's own-label Butternut Squash Stars are now available in 200 selected stores across the UK.
