UK-based food manufacturer Bakkavor Group has announced the opening of two new factories in Texas, and North Carolina in the US.
The move is a part of the company’s strategy to accelerate its international expansion.
CEO of Bakkavor Group plc, Agust Gudmundsson, commented, “Bakkavor’s core strategy of delivering sustainable long-term growth includes developing our businesses both in the UK and internationally through strong customer partnerships and our leading expertise in the fresh[ly] prepared food market.
“These two investments represent a key part of this strategy and we look forward to delivering new and exciting products to US consumers.”
Stronger Presence
The factory in San Antonio in Texas will supply a range of fresh meals to its partner, and one of the major US retailers - HEB.
The facility on Charlotte in North Carolina will supply a range of artisan breads including focaccias, flatbreads and dough balls across the US.
The new factories will enable the food manufacturer to strengthen its customer base, develop presence, and build relationships with major US retailers, as the freshly prepared food market in the US is significantly underserved compared to the UK.
