Choosing from more than 27 ingredients and 2,000 combinations, over 2 million Lidl Facebook fans have chosen a 100% vegan pizza as their favourite. The ‘Lidl Fan Pizza’ will be available in every Lidl store in Germany from 1 August 2016.
Between April and May, in the fifth crowdsourcing campaign of its kind, Lidl’s Facebook fans were invited to create their favourite pizza, voting for one of ten shortlisted combinations with the click of a mouse.
“As our customers’ opinion matters greatly to us, we are pleased with this success. The response of our Facebook fans was overwhelming," said Jan Bock, head of purchasing at Lidl Germany.
Lidl is one of the leading companies in food retailing in Germany, with approximately 3,200 branches and more than 75,000 employees.
