UK retailer Waitrose & Partners has announced that it has added fish-less fingers to its vegan food range.
The product is made from breaded seaweed tofu with a crispy coating, and has a subtle fish flavour.
A Vegan Alternative
Chilled vegan and vegetarian buyer at Waitrose & Partners, Chloe Graves, said, "The Fish’less Fingers are a great vegan alternative to a much-loved food which we hope our customers will love.
"After the successful launch of our new vegan and vegetarian range in October 2018, we’ve been working to see what other interesting dishes and products we can add to the range."
The retailer has reported that the sales of its new vegan party food range went up by 20% since its launch in October of last year.
Comfort Sandwich
The fish-less fingers can be made into a comfort sandwich with white sourdough bread, and a specially prepared, vegan tartar sauce made of silken tofu, gherkins, capers, lemon, and parsley.
The fish-less fingers and sauce are available for sale across the UK, and online at an introductory price until the end of January.
