Waitrose is to make its own-brand products available to the worldwide market through British Corner Shop, an online store that sells British products abroad.
This will present the retailer with the opportunity to enter new business territories, as the British Corner Shop operation currently caters to 138 countries, including the USA and Germany.
More than 2,000 Waitrose products will be available to online shoppers, adding to the 10,000 products that the service currently stocks.
Own-brand products and ranges such as Waitrose Duchy Organic, Waitrose Baby, Essential Waitrose and the recently released Waitrose 1 range will all be available to buy in the global online store.
The commercial director for Waitrose, Mark Williamson, said, “British Corner Shop gives a global audience access to Waitrose and provides a platform for our British suppliers to showcase the great food and drink they produce.
“We are proud that our brand continues to retain the loyalty and trust of customers, wherever they are in the world.”
