Upmarket retailer Waitrose & Partners has announced that it has expanded and upgraded its premium private-label drinks assortment, No.1.
The new additions include six new drinks SKUs in the wine, spirits, and cider categories.
It includes the Waitrose & Partners No.1 Sauvignon Blanc Astrolabe, from the small, family-run Astrolabe winery.
The wine, exclusively produced for the retailer, complements chicken, fish or salads.
'Best Classic Wines'
Head of wine buying at Waitrose & Partners, Pierpaolo Petrassi MW commented, "The newly launched No.1 wine range allows us to introduce our customers to some of the very best classic wines and standout regions around the world."
Another highlight in the new collection is Waitrose & Partners No.1 Crusted Port, produced exclusively for the retailer by the Symington Family Estate.
Two new Burgundy wines are also a part of the new collection. These include Waitrose & Partners No.1 Côte de Beaune and The Waitrose & Partners No.1 Pouilly Vinzelles.
Both wines, produced by Maison Joseph Drouhin, are exclusive to the retailer.
'Indulgence For Our Customers'
Petrassi added, "Our award-winning team of buyers has worked with some of the world's best producers to ensure authenticity [and] to craft some truly outstanding wines. We want this range to be an indulgence for our customers, whether that be a special occasion, dinner party or a weekend treat."
Presently, the No.1 range offers a total of 27 SKUs, the retailer added.
