UK retailer Waitrose & Partners has announced what it describes as its 'biggest ever' confectionery launch, with some 81 different recipes being used in its new range of chocolate SKUs.
The range includes the Waitrose 1: Classic Edition range of chocolates produced in Switzerland, using high quality fillings including aromatic bitter orange, Turkish hazelnut and Madagascan vanilla.
Elsewhere, the Waitrose Sweet Treats collection includes an array of decorated hearts and dessert cups, featuring flavours such as maple pecan pie and crème brûlée. Other SKUs being launched include Waitrose Cherry Liqueurs, Belgian Flaked Truffles and Chocolate Ginger bitesize pieces.
Notably, the launch also includes two new vegan chocolate SKUs, including Waitrose Coconut Ice, and Waitrose Turkish delight, which is made in Turkey according to a traditional recipe.
Waitrose & Partners said that the new confectionery range launches online and in-store on 17 September, with another 30 SKUs set to be launched on 3 October, ahead of the Christmas campaign.
