Waitrose Toasts Private Label Success In First Half Of Year

UK retailer Waitrose has said that sales of its Waitrose 1 premium private label range was up 19.4% in the first half of the year, compared to last year.

The retailer said that the range, 'which underlines our leadership in this area', brings together 'the very best of Waitrose' under one brand.

As well as toasting success for Waitrose 1, the retailer said that it now exports Watirose branded products to some 58 countries worldwide.

'A new export deal with Alibaba Group has given us the opportunity to export to China for the first time; and a partnership with online retailer, British Corner Shop, means that people in more than 100 countries are now able to buy over 2,000 Waitrose product lines,' the retailer said.
