Germany's Rewe Group has said that its meat production company Wilhelm Brandenburg is planning to construct a new plant and company headquarters in Erlensee.
The proposed 70,000 square foot facility is still awaiting final approval from Rewe Group's executive board, but Dirk Höfer, managing director of Wilhelm Brandenburg, said that the company is "fully focused" on developing the new location.
The new facility would consolidate some of the manufacturer's other production plants, and would take two years to construct.
The company is the largest private label supplier of the Rewe and Penny supermarket chains in Germany, providing a range of sausage and ham products.
