European purchase alliance AgeCore has named Dirk Depoorter, the general manager of Retail Partners Colruyt Group, as its new chief executive, according to a report in the trade publication retaildetail.eu.
Depoorter also serves as a member of the executive committee and chief purchase officer of Colruyt Group.
He is already a member of the board of directors of AgeCore, the report added.
Depoorter will lead the purchasing alliance from 1 March 2021 in close association with Ivana Mollo, the head of international brands division and deputy managing director.
He will succeed Gianluigi Ferrari in the role, who stepped down from the position in September of this year.
Depoorter will step down from all his responsibilities in Colruyt Group by the end of February 2021.
Founded in 2015, AgeCore comprises six members - Colruyt, Edeka, Intermarché, Coop Switzerland, Conad and Eroski.
