Croatian food and retail company Agrokor has announced that it is moving its headquarters from Zagreb's Cibona Tower to Žitnjak, in the southeastern part of the capital.
The company says that the decision to move was made to 'better manage available office space' in the Agrokor Group.
The number of employees is now almost half the size that it was at the beginning of the year, and so a large part of the tower has not been in use.
The company, which operates the Konzum supermarket chain, is currently undergoing state-led restructuring, after mounting financial issues earlier this year.
In April, the Croatian government stepped in to prevent job losses and shield the economy from the potential collapse of the company.
Cibona Tower
Agrokor's headquarters have been located in Cibona Tower for nearly 18 years. The company acquired the first 14 floors in 1999, and continued to purchase the remaining office space up until 2010.
The company says that it will now rent the space, however, the possibility of a sale is being hampered by decisions that were made by the previous management.
In the case of a serious buyer, Agrokor says that the sale will be decided upon by its creditors.
