Ahold Delhaize Seeks To Bolster Online Presence

Ahold Delhaize has announced plans to ‘create an even better online experience’ for users of its Albert Heijn and BOL.com e-commerce platforms.

Users of Albert Heijn’s online service can now log on using their BOL.com account, simplifying the membership platform, while customers of either service can avail of subscription packages to both.

Both Albert Heijn and BOL.com will now also offer an ‘action’ via the Dutch Google Assistant platform, as well as stocking Google Home devices, to facilitate shopping services by voice command.

Seamless Experience

"Many Albert Heijn customers frequently shop at BOL.com and vice versa, so these new features will make their shopping experience even more seamless and convenient," said Wouter Kolk, Ahold Delhaize CEO for Europe and Indonesia.

"I'm excited about these joint initiatives, as we continue to create an even better retail ecosystem for our customers," added Kolk.

Albert Heijn’s online platform serves around five million shoppers per week, while BOL.com boasts nine million users.

Ahold Delhaize said that it will provide further information on its e-commerce strategy in Europe at its Capital Markets Day, on 13 November in New York.
