Ahold Delhaize has announced that its Maxi retail banner was voted as Serbian consumers' favourite supermarket at the recent My Choice awards.
The awards, which are organised by tourism organisation My Serbia and the country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, honour the best national products and brands based on a survey of over 1,900 people in ten cities.
In the supermarket category, Maxi came in first position, followed by local retailer Tempo.
Market Growth
“When consumers recognise you as their first choice, you have greater responsibility and an obligation to be even better," said Quentin Royer, COO of Delhaize Serbia.
"We will continue to improve our offer so customers can choose from a broad assortment of quality products, allowing them to make the healthiest choices for themselves and their families.”
Delhaize is one of the leading grocery retailers in Serbia, along with Mercator-S and Univerexport.
Research by Euromonitor International reveals that the Serbian retail market grew at a relatively high rate in 2017, thanks to improvements in the economy, as well as increases in disposable income and consumer confidence.
