Albert Heijn has announced that it has extended its grocery home delivery service to eight new municipalities in the Flanders region in Belgium.
These include Mechelen, Boom, Rumst, Schelle, Niel, Merksem, Hoboken and Antwerp-South.
'A Stronghold'
Raf Van den Heuvel, general manager of Albert Heijn in Belgium, said, “Mechelen is a stronghold of ardent fans; we have known that for years. Mechelen and the Rupel regions were very high on our list for home delivery.”
The new additions will take the total number of households availing of the service in Belgium to 275,000, the retailer added.
The orders are processed and delivered from the Home Shop Centre in Eindhoven.
