Aldi's UK chief Matthew Barnes has been installed as the favourite to take over the reins from the ousted Dalton Phillips, who will leave the post in March.
Marketing reports that the shortest odds are on Barnes to take over at odds of 4/1 with Ladbrokes, with all of the top five candidates in the betting for the position men.
Former Thomas Cook boss Harriet Green is the only woman to make the top ten, at odds of 12/1.
Barnes is currently joint group managing director for Aldi UK and Ireland with Ronan Heini, but is due to take over as CEO in April.
David Potts, the former Tesco chief in Asia, is also mooted as Philip’s possible replacement at odds of 5/1, alongside John Browett, the man who turned around Monsoon Accessorize’s fortunes.
B&Q's commercial director, Darren Blackhurst is rated at 8/1 for Morrisons’ top job, while Mark Harrison, Morrisons' current manufacturing director, has is being quoted odds of 10/1.
And for the brave out there, Morrisons' ad stars Ant and Dec have a 1000/1 of leading Morrisons in 2015.
