Germany’s Aldi Süd has been awarded with two prizes at the German Brand Awards 2017, for the company’s blog and the customer magazine ‘Aldi Inspiriert’ (Aldi Inspired).
Each year, the German Brand Awards honour sustainable brand concepts. The winners are chosen by a jury with members from a range of industries, which recognises brand creation, strategy, and management.

The customer magazine ‘Aldi inspiriert’ received a prize for its recipe ideas, DIY tips and travel offers. The jury praised the magazine’s concept, which ‘deals with modern and exciting topics - both linguistically and visually - and thus connects the brand to the customer’s every day life’.
The other award winner, Aldi Süd’s online blog, offers a behind the scenes look at the company. The jury praised the company’s 'valuable' communication strategy - the blog ‘stands for lived transparency and openness’ and focuses on an exchange with customers.
“We are very happy with the awards”, said Kirsten Geß, director of communication at Aldi Süd.
“They both underline our endeavour to communicate in an open and transparent way. Especially on our company’s blog, we have the opportunity to address critical issues and enter into dialogue with our customers.”
